Christmas is really a time of great consumerism. Now, tell me if you know someone who doesn’t like to receive gifts. I don’t know anyone… and there are those who like to offer gifts and who think and think and think…
Choosing a Christmas gift requires criteria unless we want to offer socks to all friends and family members. Then they just have to choose appropriate patterns. For those who want to give the right gift to the right person, they have to choose the best one possible.
Age and personality criteria are very important. For example, I have three boys. However, at 6 years old everyone had the same age criteria but each one had their own tastes. One loves legos, the other loves cooking-related toys and the other loves head-pulling games… So the personality criterion was the one that weighed the most.
Nowadays, especially when it comes to adults, I have another criterion: utility. Yes, Christmas is good for pampering but I prefer to pamper someone with a gift that I know will make them happy and have their purpose. Within its usefulness, we can also think about the issue of sustainability.
By offering an ecological gift we can be offering someone a brave new world. A friend who wanted to try a bamboo toothbrush but didn’t know where to find it or how it would fit in, an eco-friendly portable ashtray for her uncle who hasn’t quit smoking, or a magic bean for that tiny but very curious cousin.
HESE ARE SOME OF MY BEST IDEAS FOR THIS CHRISTMAS:
Reusable Steel Bottle – Isotherm, everyday.
Special Bio Soap Beard, for homo ecologicus.
BIO Dehydrated Seaweed Set + Canned Sardines in Seaweed Bed + Aveiro Salt Flower + Traditional Sea Salt, for the Chef in them.
Sowing Calendar – Pink Violet, for those who have “green fingers”.
Make Your Candle – Fragrance Set – Do It Yourself, for the artists.
Goat and Lavender Milk Soap for those who care about their body and the environment.
FOR THE KIDS:
Bamboo Cup and Rice Peel for the little ones who are already cheering the cucumber right now.
Make Your Soap Liquid Soap 2.0 for small scientists.
Bio Cotton Teeth Bag for toothless princes and princesses.
Starter Kit – Reusable Notebook InfiniteBook – A5 Genius Edition, where you can write anything you want without ruining the planet.
KIT Reusable Bamboo Straw for the irreverent teenager who wants to make a difference.
Backpack – Solomon Bag Sirt, to take everything everywhere.
Christmas pine, to grow with them.
Can and Organic Vegan Chocolate – 70.3% Cocoa – Chocolates of Life, because life is like a box of chocolates.
Urban Garden for Seasoning – Plant & Grow, to eat together.
I hope you enjoy my choices and, don’t forget, what we sow today, sow tomorrow.
