Ecological Ballpoint from Waste Vine harnesses the vine residues resulting from the cutting of vines after their harvest. These pens help in reducing CO2 emissions by avoiding burning vine residues. It also results in the reduction in plastic usage which are a predominant raw material in normal pens. These pens are rechargeable, meaning you can use them repeatedly.

The Da_Vide Project was created in 2012 and emerged from the realization that in the Douro vine pruning waste was not valued and, on the other hand, the quantities produced were huge (at least 90 000 tonnes per year!).From this the environmental impact resulting from the burning or decomposition of these wastes was studied and it was concluded that their recovery would represent a reduction in CO2 emissions of approximately 165 000 Tons (equivalent to CO2 emitted by 100 000 cars over 1 year!).It was also concluded that its application in the national wine sector would represent a reduction in CO2 emissions of around one million tons.
